KUNITZ Shoes

Soulflame Creative Services has collaborated with Kunitz shoes here in Edmonton to create the iconic and historic collection, “Lance Cardinal X”. This 12 shoe collection features First Nations and Metis inspired designs, including a red boot with proceeds towards the families of MMIWG here in Canada.
Indigenous Showroom IKEA

Soulflame worked with the amazing design team at IKEA Edmonton to create the FIRST EVER Indigenous Family Showroom. This curated room features an authentic glimpse into the every day life of a First Nations family from the Treaty 6 territory. Designer and curator Lance Cardinal contributed to the interior/exterior design, language, and artifact acquirement.

Designer Lance Cardinal created this digital image for EPL’s Mâmawôayâwin program, which supports the Indigenous services at EPL. "The Gathering" depicts the Indigenous community coming together for celebration, teaching and healing.

Soulflame Creative Services was honoured to work with IKEA Edmonton to create a 40’ mural titled “The Seven Sacred Grandfather Teachings”. This was the first of its kind in the world and included customized display materials and audio/visual enhancements.
“Honouring Feathers”

Soulflame was honoured to provide the Treaty 6 inspired gold, silver and bronze medals for the World Rugby Sevens Series held in Edmonton in 2021. "Honouring Feathers" was created by Cree artist Lance Cardinal and represents the eagle feather, given to honour special moments and great success.
“amiskwacî-wâskahikan”

Soulflame recently spent some time at the Telus World of Science lobby to create a unique Treaty 6 land acknowledgement mural titled "amiskwacî-wâskahikan" (ᐊᒥᐢᑿᒌᐚᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ) meaning Beaver Hills House, which is the Cree name for Edmonton.

In 2021 UNBELTS Edmonton created the "Lance Cardinal X" collection! This is a collaboration with the sustainable accessory company UNBELTS here in Edmonton, and Cree artist Lance Cardinal! The collection had a belt, mask and coffee sleeve.

This map was designed to help envision the new Indigenous Peoples Experience layout at Fort Edmonton Park.
“Healing Spirit”
2021 | Alberta Health Services | Grande Prairie, AB
This large scale painting sits at the main entry of the new Grande Prairie Hospital in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The painting “Healing Spirit” was created by artist Lance Cardinal and depicts Indigenous medicines and healing spirits used by the Indigenous people of Treaty 8 territory.
“Spirit Journey”

Soulflame Creative Services was honoured to create the FIRST mural ever at MacEwan University. “Spirit Journey” is a 2-spirit representation mural at the entrance of the Centre for Sexual & Gender Diversity.
“Riverhawks”

Soulflame was very honoured to create “Riverhawks” at the entrance to the ICONIC Edmonton RE/MAX Baseball Field stadium. This mural celebrates the beauty of the Hawk and their relationship with the land, and also acknowledges that the stadium is on Indigenous territory.

“Healing Medicine”

Soulflame was excited to work with Avenue Living Communities to bring this mural, “Healing Medicine” (55'x 9'6") to Wetaskiwin Mall. It features Treaty 6 medicine ideals, including ceremonial, medicinal, traditional and cultural healing.

Artist Lance Cardinal created “The Gathering” for the walls of the Abbotsfield Edmonton Public Library in the neighbourhood of Beverly. This image was created for EPL’s Mâmawôayâwin program, which supports the Indigenous services at EPL.

Soulflame was excited to create "The Sacred People", a 30'X8' mural created at the Lumen Christi Catholic Education Centre in Edmonton. It celebrates the 7 sacred grandfather teachings and the Indigenous land the building is on.

Soulflame was excited to return to IKEA Edmonton to refresh the Indigenous Family Showcase, adding Cree language and syllabics to the walls and creating a traditional medicine, harvesting, and teachings display.
Reconcili-Action Workshop

Soulflame was so honoured to lead year ONE of a youth legacy art piece at the 2022 Tee Pee Summit at Poundmakers Lodge. Everyone contributed one small triangle to create a beautiful teepee that spoke about what they will do as part of THEIR own reconcili-action.
Miniature Blackfoot Backrests

This is one of 12 miniature replicas of a traditional Blackfoot tipi backrests measuring 8”X8”X11”. These were given as gifts to honoured guests from overseas to represent Treaty 6 territory.
Custom Puppet Design

Soulflame was so thrilled to design and create a custom handmade fish puppet for Spotlight Cabaret’s “The Tiniest Mermaid” musical at the Fringe Festival, 2022.

"Naspasinahikewin"

This mural titled "Naspasinahikewin" was created for The Works Art & Design Festival building in Edmonton. It's a bold language piece, with the Cree word for art in syllabics "ᓇᐢᐸᓯᓇᐦᐃᑫᐃᐧᐣ" (*Naspasinahikewin, Cree word for Art in Syllabics)
"Asesin ᐊᓭᓯᐣ"

Soulflame worked closely with Wildheart Collective, Park Streets Projects, and Inglewood Community Centre to create an Indigenous theme mural celebrating the beauty of the Cree/Metis moccasin vamp (Asesin ᐊᓭᓯᐣ). The community of Inglewood came together to help paint these large which are up on the walls at the Inglewood community garden.
Esquao Awards Set Design

Soulflame Creative Services provided set design and production for the 2019 Esquao Awards, a community recognition ceremony to honour the strength, resilience and beauty of First Nation, Metis and Inuit women in Alberta.
Ledger Art Workshop

Soulflame Creative Services was in Fort McMurray, Alberta offering ledger art workshops as part of the Athabasca Tribal Council Youth Gathering and hand games tournament.
Open Streets

For one day downtown Edmonton was closed to traffic for the annual “Open Streets” car free festival. Soulflame was asked to create an interactive art project honouring treaty 6 territory and allowing guests of the festival to contribute towards a united goal.
Northern Alberta Zombie Fest!

Soulflame Creative Services traveled to High Level, Tall Cree, Vermilion, Beaver First Nation and Rocky Lane to offer full day Zombie Camps! This Included zombie movement training, zombie make up, zombie movie history, and make-up design. and OF COURSE a zombie walk!!
Pow Wow Marionette Workshop

Soulflame Creative Services traveled to the Bigstone Cree Nation in Desmarais, Alberta, to present a pow wow marionette making and performance workshop. Participants designed their own marionette, learned to operate it, and performed a miniature Pow Wow for the school.
